In recent months, lots of things have been initiated and set in motion in the consortium: initial ship designs, CFD studies of surface ship aerodynamics, optimisation of the Flettner rotors in the wind tunnel, measurement data acquisition on various Flettner rotor ships, manoeuvre simulations of Flettner rotor ships, to name but a few. The complexity of the project is also evident in the initial interim results. The partners have brought each other up to date and defined the future course of the individual activities.
The upcoming project meeting promises further insights from the many measures and tasks.
